The Artists

Furniture, fine woodworking
Central to my philosophy is the reverence I hold for the raw material itself. I am awed and deeply inspired by the wild places of the Pacific Northwest. Trees, magnificent and untouched by human artifice, embody a perfect harmony within nature. It’s a privilege to transform their essence into enduring creations that will stand the test of time, bridging generations. Drawing inspiration from the clean lines of Danish modernism, the simplicity of Japanese design, the functional aesthetics of Shaker tradition, the elegant practicality of Scandinavian craftsmanship, and the intimate spirit of the craft furniture movement, I endeavor to channel the soul of each tree into pieces that are unmistakably timeless.
In my pursuit, I find myself irresistibly drawn to the art of weaving. The interplay of colors, shadows, textures, and patterns woven seamlessly into furniture designs captivates me. This tactile dimension invites a sensory engagement that extends beyond mere sight, beckoning users to run their hands over the intricate surfaces, to feel the harmony of materials converging in joyful unity.
My creations, characterized by clean lines, subtle curves, and a balanced aesthetic, are an invitation to transcend the ordinary. It is in these carefully crafted details that the hand of the maker reveals itself, a testament to the intimate relationship between craftsman and creation. With a devotion to highlighting the innate beauty of the wood, I strive to create furniture that exists beyond trends and fads, embodying a refined elegance that transcends time.
