David Repyak is an artist educator with SHINEArtAcademy.com. His goal is to design and execute a positive, educational and creative experience for students and the local community. He believes with more attention placed on process than on product, student artwork will lift the soul and inspire an understanding of life. He integrates art into core academic curriculum to strengthen learning across multiple disciplines, to build students’ self-esteem, and offer a constructive means of visual expression. David holds a K-8 Certification from WA State, a Montessori Elementary Credential, and a BFA. He teaches plein air painting, after school art enrichment, and guides homeschooled students. David Repyak’s personal goal as an artist is to lift the human spirit, and inspire feelings of awe and wonder at the beauty of our natural environment. His work is rooted firmly in nature, and leans into the abstract, with an intense dose of positive energy, motion and emotion, always reaching to capture the essence of the moment.

When examining a recent work of art, “Crossroads,” the layers rest on top of each other with hints of bright color. Everyone enjoys having a moment in the sun. In spite of all the complexities in life swimming around us each day, we can still enjoy these bright moments. David Repyak has painted a symbolic bridge of peace with chaos and unease under and around. It floats on top of the painting to allow one’s eye to move through the space. The drama pulls you in, spins you around, and invites you to continue the cycle.
