Kate Goodman

Encaustics, mixed media

Kate Goodman is a mixed media artist living on Bainbridge Island in Washington. Kate is known for her charming collage and encaustic PNW landscapes (encaustic is a mixture of beeswax and resin that protects and preserves her collages that are mostly created using strips of paper cut from magazines). However, recently Kate has been creating new artworks that include many different mediums that might include collage and encaustic, acrylic paint, colored pencil, watercolor, or oil pastels among other mediums – there are no rules! Kate’s work is influenced by her time in the PNW and the Southwest, and no matter the medium her work is charming and whimsical.
