My initial experience with beading began as a member of the Camp Fire Girls, where I bead-embroidered my vest. As a child, I frequently strung necklaces on cords, and at age twelve, I crafted my first metal necklace. During high school, I enrolled in a jewelry course and successfully designed and produced four Sterling silver bracelets, one of which I continue to wear daily. This reflects the foundation of my journey in jewelry-making.

After decades devoted to a career in international education, I transitioned into entrepreneurship as a jeweler. Five years ago, I established the bauble d’art line, specializing in jump ring jewelry, lampwork glass beaded creations, wire-wrapped beads, and semi-precious stone pieces. My comprehensive experience across various jewelry-making mediums has enabled me to offer a diverse range of designs for clients.

Jump ring jewelry primarily involves creating wearable chainmaille art by hand-forging patterns through opening, weaving, and closing jump rings. I find Sterling silver chainmaille necklaces and bracelets particularly appealing due to their enduring quality, though I also work with copper and jeweler’s bronze.

Additionally, I produce a series of lampwork glass bead necklaces intended to showcase creativity and adeptness in combining color, texture, and shape. Each adjustable necklace is crafted with silk or leather cord and features unique focal beads sourced from international artists, ensuring distinctive and vibrant designs.

To reach a broader clientele, I have expanded my offerings to include elastic semi-precious stone bracelets and “baubled” accessories such as zipper pulls and silver-plated earrings.
My dedication to jewelry stems from a genuine appreciation for adornment and a commitment to sharing this passion with others. The original bead-embroidered vest and early metal necklace continue to serve as inspiration in my workspace.
