Driftwood sculptures

Creating art and sculptures and exploring methods of upcycling found materials from nature to design pieces of beauty has become my passion. My love of the outdoors and beach treasures led me to sculpt driftwood creations, combining the incredible Olympic Peninsula environment with my art craft. Sculpting with driftwood is my focus, although I have incorporated mixed medium into many of my pieces. I create unique life-like sculptures using meticulous research for proportion and anatomy and each piece is carefully assembled using stainless steel fasteners and completed with a durable finish, for either interior or exterior display.

I love to puzzle together the perfect pieces of Pacific Northwest beach treasures. Each work of art is created from wood washed ashore on our local beaches. I take great care to select the stoutest pieces with no punk or rot. As I build my sculptures, I seal each piece to ensure a high-quality, long-lasting work of art. I am inspired by nature and its beauty right in my backyard and tend to select animals as subject preference, but I have created a myriad of commissioned pieces also, including large scale landscape sculptures such as a 7×6 foot octopus named Marcellus for a local Bainbridge Island home. Discovering methods of making found materials come together into pieces of art is downright fun. I am so very thankful to be able to do what I love and to share beauty with others.
