Most of my artwork is in the traditional impressionist style, leaning towards landscapes and florals. While in college I pursed horticulture degrees that lead me into landscape design and owning a nursery. For me painting outside on location was a natural transition. The natural landscape and flowers have always been part of my life and are my biggest inspiration.
I use the mediums of; acrylics, inks, oils and drawing instruments. All my mediums are used in the traditional manner.
The majority of my paintings are representational; landscapes, seascapes, flowers etc. Most of my landscapes are done in Plein Air, meaning; painting on location in natural light. My florals may be done on location in Plein Air or in my studio from life. This holds true for my acrylics, inks and prints. I rarely use photos to paint from. Sometimes I will use a photo for inspiration. My popular flower card line is made from my own crazy inspired imagination. I always prefer to sell original artwork.
My cards sell for $3.75- $4.00ea. or 3/$10.00, smaller Plein Air pieces run from $150- $285, Larger paintings range depending upon size $350- $900. Paintings that do not have frames or ones that clients prefer to purchase without frames may be slightly less. I regularly sell paintings without frames.
I am currently represented by Front Street Gallery, Poulsbo, WA.
I am an artist on the Summer Studio Tour and Winter Studio Tour, which are held annually at my Grow Ave Studio, Bainbridge Island.
