Paul Sattler is a self-taught watercolor painter. He has been studying the art of painting for nearly 15 years. Inspired by nature’s beauty, he masterfully captures the romance of outdoor life and inspirational locations. Sattler bases each painting on a unique story, the warmth and depth invites the viewer to form their own interpretation.
Sattler utilizes a technique to fix the paint and then uses bees wax to seal the surface. This technique allows the watercolor paintings to be displayed without the traditional use of glass for protection.
Sattler was born in 1952 in Wisconsin. Attended University of Wisconsin where he received a B.S. in Agriculture. He used this degree to secure head grower positions for the production of house plants and later orchids in Washington state.
Sattler went on to obtain a degree in computer science, which propelled him into a 30-year career in the IT field.
He discovered the enjoyment of painting during his IT years. Inspiration from friends and acquaintances motivated him to get his work out to the public.
