Participating and Interested Artists
The Bainbridge Island Studio Tours support artists in our community by providing professional and inviting local venues to show and sell their work. The Winter Tour started in 1984 and continues to be the first stop of the holiday shopping season for many on-and-off-island tour visitors. The Summer Tour was added in 2001 and it is a favorite summer arts destination. Both Tours are three-day juried events which take place at artists' studios throughout Bainbridge Island and historic community halls.
As members of the tour, we work together to organize, publicize, and operate these events. While a paid event coordinator and a steering committee of four artists make the day-to-day decisions regarding the tours, participating artists also contribute time and energy to make each Tour a success. A 1% donation from sale proceeds is donated annually to a local art cause.
The Jury Process
As a juried venue, the Studio Tour looks for professional work, originality of design and quality craftsmanship. A jury process reviews the work of all potential artists; all current artists must re-jury every three years. If a current artist's work or media changes dramatically, they too will need to be re-juried.Applications & Registration
Application forms are available on our website or at the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce on the dates below. Registration forms are mailed to all artists who apply and are juried successfully:
