Bainbridge Island, WA
I have worked with clay since 1993 when I took my first pottery class through the Bainbridge Island Department of Parks and Recreation. I now work in a converted farm building at my home on the island.
I make functional pottery with an emphasis on simple, classic shapes and northwest decorative themes. I use colors and designs chosen to enhance the appearance of foods, and I strive for a feel in the hand that makes each piece a unique pleasure to hold. Please drop by and pick up my pieces until you find the one that speaks to you. Because it is meant to be part of daily life, all my functional pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe.
In addition to my functional pottery, I create hand-built clay whistles in animal shapes. I never cease to be amazed by the minor miracle of creating music from mud. For the Christmas tour I make whistle ornaments and pendants.
My enthusiasm for pottery provides me with immense satisfaction and I enjoy the chance to share my work with the Bainbridge Island community that nurtured it.
