Raquel was born and raised on Bainbridge Island, and she has been working as an artist for over 10 years. All the materials she uses for both mosaic and fused glass are made locally in Washington and Oregon. She makes her forms for mosaic herself out of wire and foam, and each piece for mosaic is hand cut to fit. Fused glass is a new adventure for Raquel she has been working her drawings and ideas from past mosaics and bringing new life into them by fusing.
