When I design and build furniture, I like to use old material mixed with new, giving my pieces a rustic look with a modern twist.

My family and I live in the woods on Bainbridge Island, just to the west of Seattle. Our setting not only inspires my desire to make my furniture in a sustainable way, but gives me access to the materials to do so.

I use both locally sourced and reclaimed wood whenever possible. Sometimes I mill trees that fell on the island or in the nearby Olympic Peninsula, where we find second-growth firs, sitka spruce and big leaf maples. Or I take the ferry across the Puget Sound to Seattle, where I can often find lumber from old barns and buildings dating back to the early 1900s.

Tables and wine racks are my specialty, and every piece is custom-made to fit my customers' specific needs. Whether it's a live-edge table with a concrete center, a console table that combines reclaimed wood with the industrial look of steel, or a wine rack that will serve as the centerpiece to your dining room, I will work with you to figure out the size and look that will fit your space.

I grew up in Switzerland, where I started woodworking in primary school. I've been in the U.S. for 15 plus years now, and live near Seattle with my wife and two kids. We love to gather our friends together for great food and wine, and I take a lot of pride in building tables where families and friends can not only enjoy a good meal, but feel like they never want to leave the table.
