I began practicing architecture as a sole proprietor 1995 when I became licensed as an Architect in the State of Washington. This followed 12 years of employment after graduation from the University of Washington in 1983. During college and these years of my architectural career I studied and experimented with sculpture and glass art.

In 2003 I established the "buildingart" idea and domain as my creative direction to integrate sculptural with architectural themes and building features. Putting together these two pursuits of art and architecture is a direction I began in the earliest days of my career. Today my goal is to join them as I develop my practice in this direction.

Glass art became an interest in 1986 when I attended a course in glass blowing at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle. I went on to attend many courses and seminars on subjects ranging from glass fusing, public art, equipment fabrication, figure modeling, and glass casting.

Today, art and architecture are central to the development of BuildingArt Studio. Current projects include architectural design services, studio work and commissions. Stand-alone and integral art works are composed with a variety of materials, featuring glass elements, especially those produced through sand casting.
