The Bainbridge Island Studio Tour invites you to celebrate the beauty and craftsmanship of handmade, locally made, art. We are a twice-annual art show on Bainbridge Island, Washington – located in the beautiful Puget Sound, just a 30-minute ferry ride from Seattle. Surrounded by water and picturesque views, Bainbridge Island is a lovely town full of quaint shops, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, and an abundance of art and artists. The Studio Tour has enjoyed great success since 1984, and we hope you’ll experience it for yourself soon!

Regional artists jury in to the summer and winter art shows, and sell their work at Island artists’ studios and historic community halls. When you visit the studios, you’ll see some works in progress, raw materials, tools, and perhaps some inspiration mixed in with a little sawdust.

We’re sure you’ll enjoy meeting the artists and discussing their work and vision in person. When you buy these hand-crafted works of art, you truly own an “original.” And by shopping locally, you’re not only supporting the local economy and helping artists to thrive; you’re also doing your part for our delicate environment.

The 2009 Summer Studio Tour took place on August 7, 8, and 9. This marks the 9th year for the summer event, and 52 artists were on hand to share their work with you. Complete with live music to set the mood, patrons grabbed a cool lemonade and strolled through some lovely local artists’ gardens to shop and view the great selection of art and talk to the artists.
The 2009 Winter Studio Tour took place on December 4, 5, and 6. We’re proud to have celebrated our 26th year as an artist-run event that is so popular! Approximately 60 artists were on hand this year, complete with festive holiday lights and décor, cookies and hot cider, and strolling carolers.

The Studio Tour is a self-guided art tour with no admission fee, and is accessible by car or bicycle. Check out the directions and map (including a bicycle route) at the right. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Beautiful brochures are available about one month before each Tour and can be downloaded from this site. Copies of the brochure are also available at the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce, local galleries and shops, regional tourism and visitor centers, or by mail (drop us an e-mail).
